Regarded by many as the apex of global design, the Olympics encapsulates a nation's rich tapestry of culture, heritage, topography, and much more. It also provides an opportunity for lesser-known countries to showcase their distinctive characteristics on a global platform. Accordingly, my team and I have chosen Caracas, Venezuela as the focal point for the 2028 Olympic Games.

Being that this Olympics is set in 2028, my team and I wanted to incorporate technology that may enhance they way viewers experience the games. Around the time of the project, the Apple Vision Pro had just released. We were inspired by the new piece of technology and the prospect of the spacial computing. Our hope is that by 2028, the Vision Pro become more common. We also anticipate less expensive, more consumer-friendly models would be available at that time.

The inspiration behind our design brief combines Venezuelan colors, ancient petroglyphs by the Arawak tribes, and art work from famous Venezuelan artists.
The petroglyphs are symbols of indigenous tribes in Caracas. Many of these symbols are still used in modern-day, and embraced by those who live there. The inclusion of these symbols pays homage to Caracas's rich history.
Carlos Cruz-Diez is one of the most prominent artists of Caracas. His style of color diffusion and line-work can be found on furniture, street art, and even the Caracas Airport.

With this User Interface, viewers of the games can have a more immersive experience. With the Vision Pro, viewers at the games and at home can have a unique experience that is tailored to what the want to see. Users can see live events, important updates, up-coming events, and much more. Utilizing Apple Maps, users can also navigate Caracas itself to get to the events that they would like to see.

Working on this project allowed me to utilize all the various aspects of creativity that I enjoy. It started with an incredible amount of research for the brand guidelines. It was such a great experience being able to delve into a part of the world that I wasn't familiar with and learn about their history, art, and culture. Personally, I also loved being able to utilize Apple's Design System when I created the Vision Pro UI. This project gavbe me a new appreciation for the Olympic games and the design process that plays a massive part of it.
